Delilah is a Doll

I only recently discovered the voice of the beautiful Paris-born and Hackney-raised Delilah in the last few months and instantly fell for her riffing vocals that pull out the sharp high notes and well as keeping a heavy, breathy thread to her whole ‘sound’. As well as being a talented singer-songwriter, she is extraordinarily gorgeous and her videos always exude a dark excitement and sensual quality.

In her latest single, ‘Inside My Love’, she covers the fantastic Minnie Riperton with an equally as sexy version, cranking up the sexual tension with a simple cat and mouse style dance between herself and the toned body of a teasing dancer. With minimal make-up and the effortless t-shirt and short shorts combo, it is so… damn… hot! The video really captures the tease and allure of the song and Delilah brings the melody and passion into 2012.

If you are new to her, she is most definitely on the steep rise to the top of her game… listening to her can send chills down your spine and is perfect background noise for a romantic rumble! She was signed age 17 and even supported Chase and Status on tour in 2011, lending her vocals to their track, Time. Everything I have had the pleasure of listening to so far has been like a soothing sheet of silk (try saying that pissed) floating past the ragged and toxic polyester out there at the moment. Just listen to this sublime cover of Rita Ora’s otherwise balky R.I.P

If want to hear more, head to her website www.delilahofficial.com and sign up for a free 8 tracks called the 2-4am mixtape which features new material as well as a remix of Hot Chip’s ‘Love You So’. Her first solo UK tour has unfortunately ended but she is playing a few summer festivals including Radio 1s Big Hackney Weekend, Wireless, Bestival and Sundown, ending the year with another solo tour, yay! Her album, currently teetering on the top of my wish-list, is out this summer and is called ‘From The Roots Up’.
